The Contract

It turns out that Oprah’s website does not actually have a no-cheating contract.

Blaine is disappointed, but not defeated. He’s determined to prove himself, and if Oprah hasn’t already written the contract for him – well, he can write it himself. After all, it’s not like it needs to say much. Just, “I, Blaine Anderson, love Kurt Hummel and will never cheat on him again.”

So he opens up a blank document on his desktop, types the sentence, and sends the file to the printer. Thirty seconds later, it’s staring back at him in black and white. It doesn’t look right. The paper is too flimsy and the font doesn’t look serious enough – probably because it’s sans serif, he thinks. This is a weighty declaration and it calls for a weighty paper and a weighty font.

Fic: Crave

Feb. 25th, 2013 07:40 pm

I was cleaning up my computer recently and found this thing I started the week after 3.05 The First Time and never continued. This takes place the day after the Roxy Music/"That's why they invented masturbation" scene and before Scandals, and nothing happens in it except Blaine's thoughts, which are very sub!Blaine and creeping into masochism territory if you squint.

And that was a long summary for 426 words.

Since last night, the want inside Blaine has taken on a life of its own.  )

I'm unable to say much new in meta right now, so I wrote fic instead during my bouts of insomnia last night.

(I've started keeping a notebook by my bed, and now do not get so frustrated with insomnia as I used to.)

Behind the cut because of spoilers.

Blaine POV, and I don't change anything that happened.

Title: Everything's Connected, If Only You Can Feel It
Characters/Fandom: Kurt/Blaine, Stoner Brett
Rating: PG-13
Word Count: ~5,500
Spoilers: 4.03, “Makeover"
Summary: Blaine takes up a new hobby in hopes of becoming closer to Kurt, despite the distance between Lima and New York. Stoner Brett turns out to be a surprisingly erudite, if flawed, mentor. Blangst with moments of humor.
A/N: Reaction fic to 4.03. Thanks to The-Multicorn for betaing,

[livejournal.com profile] lavender_love00 for helping me figure out what this story was going to be about, and[livejournal.com profile] punkkitten2113for encouraging me and trying to help me come up with a title in the middle of the night. You can find the canon reference to the club Blaine joins here.

Also on tumblr.
The poster was covered by the words "Fixie Your Life" in all-caps Helvetica and, at the very bottom, the hand-scrawled meeting time and location. )

I do not know spoilers for 4.04 or beyond, so please help keep me and my little secluded corner of fandom protected by not mentioning spoilers or spec (including songs, guest actors, scenes from promos, etc.) in the comments. Thank you!
I'm not bothering with a cutline because this is so short and their are no spoilers beyond Original Song. I wrote this on Klaine Day but for some reason didn't post it. Consider it my belated Klainiversary gift to you.

Blaine's friends had told him horror stories about their first kisses – about girls going at them tongue first, about teeth clashing, about too much spit and not enough finesse.

Thad had told him about kissing a girl who always tasted like mushrooms and tortilla chips, no matter what she'd actually eaten that day. "She was really hot, and I liked her a lot, and I love mushrooms and tortilla chips," Thad said. "But it was just creepy. I had to break it off after a few dates."

When Blaine kissed Kurt, his heart almost lurched out of his chest to tap-dance on the table and do a few somersaults over Pavarotti's tiny, bedazzled coffin. Because Kurt's mouth tasted like home, and Kurt's lips knew exactly what they were doing.

So did Blaine's.

Chapter title: Friday, and the World Is Clear
Characters: Kurt/Blaine pre-dating, Rachel
Rating: PG-13 (entire story)
Spoilers: 2.14 (Blame It On the Alcohol).
Warnings: language
Word count: About 18,000 overall, 1,772 this part
Summary: The fact the he enjoyed kissing Rachel at the party is confusing for Blaine. But what's more confusing is Kurt.
Chapter Summary: Blaine makes a discovery: lips that taste like Cherry chapstick are not all they're cracked up to be. Kurt's glad of that.
Author’s Note: Thank you, verdandil, for your beta-ing and pretty-sobbing.

Omigawd, guyz, I can't believe it's over. This chapter is short, and now I want to add like 3,000 words to drag it out, but I won't, because that's not what the story wants. Mean, mean story. Thanks for all of your love and I promise, I will just keep playing with these boys until they make me stop. Which is not gonna happen anytime soon. They told me.

Oh, yeah. The complete author's notes, which include song links and lots of meta, are here.

Rating: PG-13 (entire story)
Spoilers: 2.14 (Blame It On the Alcohol). This chapter has references to scenes and characters in the movie Brokeback Mountain.

Word count: About 18,000 overall, 3,229 this part
Summary: The fact the he enjoyed kissing Rachel at the party is confusing for Blaine. But what's more confusing is Kurt.
Chapter Summary: Talking to Rachel and letting her try to dash his hopes last night only made Kurt more sure of Blaine's feelings for him. Now, well …

[Oh, and another thing - I marked this as "genre:romance" in [livejournal.com profile] kurt_blaine because it seemed the least poor fit of all the genres, but I have been informed that "genre:angst" could also work. I though angst was for hard stuff like suicide, murder, zombie attacks, brain damage and hate crimes, which is why I didn't use it, but, yeah, there's quite a bit of emotional confusion - er, emotional angst - in here. Personally, I prefer the genre:hurt/comfort tag that [livejournal.com profile] beyond_dapper offers, but beggars can't be choosers.]
