Anyone seen a close-up gif of Blaine's model cars from The First Time? I don't have the episode in HD and they're hard to identify. Better yet, if someone's identified what cars they are - but I know I'm asking a lot of the universe.

Seriously, this fic I'm working on will be soooo much better if I have this information.

I don't know anything about cars, but you can see the shape of them pretty well in this picture. I'm sure if you find cars of a similar style and declare that that's the cars they are, no one will argue with you. :)

Also, what kind of car did he say he and his dad built? Does it look anything like either of those?

Wow, these pictures are awesome, and much clearer than what I had. Mine were so blurry that I took them to be cars from the 30s and possibly 20s. The car he built with his dad was a '59 Chevy, I think (I have it in the notes for an old story I did, but I'm going off of my memory here). These model cars fit into that era. I wonder is the red one is a Corvette? Anyway, the era of those cars makes me think even more than I already did that Blaine's dad might have done the car-rebuilding project because he thought Blaine would be genuinely interested in it, and that Blaine only interpreted it as his dad wanting to turn him straight because Blaine was particularly insecure at the time. I could be wrong about that, but I know I ascribed all kinds of ulterior motives to my parents when I was a teenager, and subsequently realized I was wrong about many of them.

Oh, I should point out that those are not my screencaps. I got them from sultrycrisses on Tumblr.

I'm glad your headcanons are all working out nicely! I can see your theory (about Blaine's dad just thinking Blaine would be into cars) being accurate. "But you made all those little model cars. Wouldn't the real thing be EVEN MORE FUN?"

The black one could definitely be a 1959 Corvette. The red car looks a lot like a 1967 corvette to me, but the nose is wrong.

Ooo, I should look for sultrycrisses. Do you remember the tag for these posts?

Do I follow you on Tumblr? I don't remember seeing you there, but maybe you have a different name and I followed you and forgot who you were.

Also, the nose looks kind of like this 1967 Jaguar, but the windshield does not: http://www.strangecosmos.com/content/item/175848.html

I believe the tag was "blaine's stuff". You do follow me, in fact (possibly because I follow you) but I'm not going to tell you who I am because it's not a fannish tumblr and I'd like to keep my real life and my fandom life sort of separate/anonymous. I hope that's ok!

I feel like the red one looks more like this 1972 Chevy Corvette Stingray Convertible Roadster.

Seriously, what would I do without you and your gifs?

Oh I was going to reply to this and say how I found that picture! I image searched for "60s convertible" and scrolled down until I saw something with similar bumps over the front wheels. It was labeled "Chevrolet Corvette." I thought I must be on the right track because the car Blaine and his dad built was a Chevy. Then I image searched for "60s convertible chevrolet corvette" and scrolled down until I saw that picture, and even though it wasn't 1960s, it looked accurate to me. (I had also done searches for Jaguars and Mercedes and Porches but none of them looked like the little models.)

That's awesome. I was too specific in my searches, I guess, because I was guessing specific years, like 1967 and 1969, with "convertible" or "Chevrolet." I can't remember why I was picking specific years - there was some reasoning behind it, lol.
