Does canon tell us when Kurt's birthday is?

I need to know for a fic I'm writing, and my internet searches are turning up questionable answers.

I think the closest we get is the NYADA application, which has his birthday as the same as Chris Colfer's (off by three years), which makes him 19 when he graduates. (The NYADA application also has the wrong street address and has him only going to McKinley and never to Dalton, so if you want to consider that canon, that's up to you.)

My headcanon puts it in fall, based on him getting the Navigator as a sweet 16 present and it still being an OMGNEWTOY! at the beginning of season one.

Well, he didn't go to Dalton for either the full first or second semester, so maybe he figured it didn't count. Or maybe he forgot! He was like, "I went to school with Blaine, Blaine's at McKinley ..."

Or maybe it's not meant to be taken literally, and is a sly reference to the fact that even when he was at Dalton, he never felt at home there.

Or maybe the props people who filled it out had had too much alcohol or caffeine.

And you already know my thoughts on the date.

actually yes. on his application to NYADA, he listed his address and birthdate. it was the same as Chris Colfer's for Month and date, just a few years younger. i don't remember the exact date tho. Late May. You could look up a screen shot for that ep or you could look up Chris Colfer's birthday and subtract four or five years...?

By the way, I think this is a fine birthday. It doesn't retcon any previous mentions of his age. A car is a big deal, and it would still be new and shiny in September when they're back at school. And it makes sense that Mercedes would never have seen his car before, as they were just starting to become friends in the beginning of season 1. I don't really have a problem with Kurt and Chris having the same birthday.

Like the others have said, the writers made Kurt the se as Chris. Which strikes me as lazy and doesn't seem to fit.

Now that I know what it is, I guess I like to view it as a good inside joke. And at least it fits with the fact that he was supposed to be 16 his sophomore year.
