Yay! One of my favorite writers in this fandom, lesley_green posted a new story today. It's a short gen piece called "You're Precious" and it's about Blaine and how he sees his relationship with Kurt, and how he needs to learn his own importance, focused around Kurt's NYADA plans. Like all of her stuff, it's full of verisimilitude, and that makes me happy, even when it also makes me a little verklempt. And also, she gave me the honor of letting me beta it, so yay, that was happy for me because I got to read it first and spew more thinky thoughts at her than I usually do.

And news from me, (aka, why haven't I posted any fic in ages): So I've been working on this fic – or rather, it's been working on me. Because it was supposed to be maybe 10,000 words, and now I have, like 43,000 words. I'm thinking now it may end up at 50-60,000, but the last time I guessed, I thought it was going to be 17,000, so I just shouldn't.

I keep thinking I should take a break to finish up one of my shorts, but I get going on this big story every day, and so that's what I work on. So, there will be lots to read when it comes around.

Alas, there is a huge amount of NC-17 in it. Le sigh. But the other big one I have on my slate is PG-13 at the most and hopefully won't be up too long after that.

And I hope the epic fic does not disappoint. All I can say right now is that I was shocked and maybe a little dismayed at the initial idea, but now I have fallen in love with it.

First, bookmarked lesley_green's fic. Look forward to getting to it eventually (my "to read" bookmark folder is busting at the seams).

Second ... 43K words in January? Please tell me this is the Dave story that you referenced in a post I just commented on? Ugh, I just love how you write so much that part of me hopes you work on it into and through the summer (and beyond for as long as needed) to incorporate what we've gotten of Dave in the last two episodes but part of me can't wait to see what you doing with this story and would be thrilled to read it without any reference to Heart or On My Way. Whatever. Point is, I'll be so happy no matter what you do.

By the way, I hope you don't feel like I'm putting pressure on you and your writing. I'm just easily excitable when I find an author I like who specializes in Klaine and writes that ship and those characters so well but also seems to view Dave with the same compassion I've had for him for a long time. So no pressure :) Seriously. Like I say, whatever you do, I'll be happy, thrilled, excited, and all other positive adjectives ...

I do not feel pressured at all. I'm getting close to the end of the ginormous fic, and your suspicions may not be far off. That's all I can say in public until I post it :)
