13 hours and 35 minutes to get the house clean

I have this New Year's tradition of cleaning my abode. But I don't feel like it this year. All I want to do is sit around and write.

Of course, I only got home from visiting the family of origin last night, which means my cats are needy, the laundry needs to be done, and I desperately need groceries, because all I will be eating until I do is oatmeal, popcorn and canned peas. Okay, I might round it out with dried apples and Christmas cookies and peanut butter cups.

I didn't get much writing done over the holidays, what with how loud and interactive my family is, but I did manage a few thousand words about David Karofsky because he has taken over my brain. Hope I don't lose all my friends when I finally post it. :)

I've been skimming your other posts and comments as I've gone back to bookmark your fic as well as your fic recommendations. And holy hell, you've got thousands and thousands of words of a Dave fic? I am so beyond excited. Kurt will always, always be my favorite. And Blaine holds a very special place in my heart too and I really do love Klaine. But Dave. There's something about him. He's so complex and his story is so heartbreaking and I always want so much more Dave. I'm really excited. I assume it's still very much in progress and I don't even care if it comes out years from now and I don't even care what the prompt was (although, I was curious so I did look for it on your prompt post but didn't find it;)). Just knowing you're writing a big Dave fic makes me so happy. ❤

And there's smut? Don't get me wrong, I love stories of all ratings but you're writing Dave with smut? Is it a secret who his partner is? Or I guess possibly even ... partners? If so, I totally understand. Just can't help but ask...

Um, so ... yeah. You won't be losing me as a follower when you post the story :)

There are gobs and gobs of smut. Buckets of it. Vats, in fact. It's like one big smut-fest with some plot thrown in the middle.

Okay, I might be exaggerating, but let's just say there's a lot more smut than there was in The Fiddler & The Maestro, but not as much smut (proportionally) as there is in most stuff by Cimmerians.

I like to think that the smut is necessary to the plot because it is (in part) about Dave coming to terms with his sexuality - not just his sexual orientation, but his relationship with his body - realizing how he's used it in the past to distance himself from other people, and deciding whether and how he wants to change that. So ... yeah. It's season 3 parallel up through 3.10, but the exact events that occur in Heart and Born This Way don't happen (although some of the things we learn in those episodes inform my characterization of him). Including those events would have required throwing out the entire plot of my story and writing a new one. I've been having thoughts about both Heart and Born This Way, though, so you never know what will happen in other fic.

Yay, I am so excited! Sure, random porn can be tons of fun but I'm thrilled that this isn't PWP but instead necessary-for-the-plot-smut. This is sounding awesome. I can imagine anyone working such a huge Dave-fic prior to Heart and On My Way would have problems taking the new events and working them into the story. Especially OMW. Glad to hear there is potential for another Dave-fic too!

I'm definitely very curious and could come up with all kinds of questions but for now, I think I'll leave you alone and look forward to reading the fic "spoiler-free." But I may just break down and PM you eventually ;)
